Pedagogical Guide
Objective & content
A two-page printable that goes with the Now You Say It episode What Do You Like?: seven things a child can like, from a pizza to a guitar to a cat. Pupils write the word for each numbered thing, say what they like themselves, then colour the picture, with the teacher key on page two.
Pedagogical guide
All seven words are A1 in the glossary. There is no scene and no character on this sheet, so nothing competes with the objects, and every one of the seven is something a child can genuinely like, so the page and the question say the same thing.
Suggested procedure
- (3 min) Point at each thing and ask "Do you like pizza?" around the class before anyone writes; the answers are real.
- (10 min) Hand out page 1. Pupils write the word for each numbered thing from the list.
- (5 min) Pupils answer the last line about themselves.
- (5 min) Correct from page 2.
- (10 min) Colouring.
Adaptations
[S] Read the word list aloud and let pupils match number to word.
[A] Fold the word list away and let pupils write from memory, then check with a partner.
Materials & prerequisites
Page 1 printed for every pupil, plus coloured pencils. Keep page 2, the teacher key. Black and white printing is enough and is what the sheet is designed for.
